A purpose-driven, 4–6 month initiative developed on a shoestring budget to reposition the outdated “ćale” archetype. initiative transforming the emotional narrative of dads in post-Yugoslav culture. From naming and identity to podcast and platform, ĆALAC was built to redefine what it means to be a present, emotionally intelligent father. Through brand strategy, visual identity, and intimate multi-platform content, the project fostered emotional resonance and sparked a new conversation about masculinity, legacy, and care.
1. Context
ĆALAC emerged as a bold redefinition of what it means to be a father in the Balkans, specifically within a post-Yugoslav cultural context. The mission was not to commercialize fatherhood, but to carve out a new, emotionally intelligent space for men to be present, vulnerable, and real. It exists at the intersection of personal development, social commentary, and storytelling, designed to shift culture, not just metrics.
2. Challenge
Reimagine and reposition the outdated image of the 'ćale' (dad) into something emotionally relevant and aspiration
l Build a complete brand from scratch: name, voice, visuals, structure, content- Create emotional intimacy and cultural authority, without falling into cliché or overly academic tone
Make it accessible, engaging, and scalable, despite minimal resources.
